If you're currently running Vista with no problems on your laptop, then I suggest staying with it. Vista has made wonderful strides to become a very nice operating system, but the overwhelming demand it puts on a computer's resources can cause some problems for cheaper, less powerful systems.

If you choose to downgrade to XP, I just wanted to point out in the post above, Microsoft will only be supporting it for another year.

I am glad you wrote about this. I do not like vista and I love XP, but when I bought my labtop it was pre installed with vista. What I think you are saying is....to keep the vista since it will be what is needed for the year 2009...and not to try and get XP on my laptop because of that....Is that right?

Thanks,
Kathryn Mizer
